The Expulsion of Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden
210cm x 240cm oil
by Rosemarie Adcock
This monumental painting by Rosemarie Adcock depicting Adam and Eve running from the Garden of Eden was begun completely spontaneously and the composition developed over the course of completion.
The serpent, Satan can be seen wrapped around the tree to the left, offering various temptations to the couple, symbolized by the apples. The apple in Eve's hand has 2 bites out of it. Adam points at Eve to shift blame, while Eve runs with a horrified expression, as if to say, "What have I done?"
