Portrait of Peter Kulakevich, a Russian Man by Rosemarie Adcock portrays a young man whose family home had been burnt down by the KGB. When he returned from military service, he saw the charred remains of his home and thought he had lost his family until a neighbor saw him and told him they had all survived. However, the family kept all the musical instruments for their church in the home, and all the instruments, very difficult to come by in communist Russia, were lost in the fire.
